Takealot wants smart people to be a part of their quickly expanding team. They are offering a paid training program and you can apply now to work at this exciting online company.
Takealot, together with the Youth Employment Service (YES), is providing a year-long training program for young, jobless South Africans. This program gives people real-world experience in online marketing and selling online, while also helping small businesses that sell on Takealot.
Details about the Training Program:
Job: Online Marketing Training
Where: Different places in Gauteng (mostly in townships and cities)
Working Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday, 8 hours each day)
When it Starts: Right away
Pay: R5,500 per month
How Long: 12 months (temporary contract)
Who You Work For: Small businesses (not directly for Takealot)
What the Program Provides
This training program aims to give young people the skills they need that are currently wanted by employers, along with real-world job experience. Participants will work with small companies that sell products on Takealot and will get advice and help during the program.
Program Details:
- 80%: Learning about online marketing and how the Takealot Marketplace works
- 20%: Getting to know how small businesses generally operate
Support: Regular help and check-ins from Takealot program managers

Trainee Duties
- Give helpful and polite customer service through phone and email
- Solve customer problems quickly and well
- Use computer programs to find answers for customers
- Work with other Takealot teams to meet customer needs
- Be responsible for making sure customers are happy, following Takealot’s principles
Basic Needs:
- High school diploma
- Good at English
- Live within 49km of where the job is
- No criminal record
- Ready to do a 12-month learnership full-time
Ideal Applicants:

- Between 18 and 25 years old
- From previously disadvantaged groups
